ESPN made one big announcement this week: Oslo will host the Xgames in February of this upcoming winter.
The Xgames are hitting ground in Norway for the first time ever. On February 24 – 28, Oslo will host the games – complete with both Skiing and Snowboarding Big Air Competitions, as well as Superpipe Comps in the two extreme sports. (Which is getting us STOKED)
But this year’s Xgames won’t solely be focussed on winter sports. For the first time in history, both summer and winter sports will make up the same Xgames event.
That means that for all you skateboarders and Evolve Skate Camp skaters, these games will also include a skateboarding streetcomp! The street course will be made into a permanent structure to be left in tact and open to the public after the event.
TV2, Norway’s leading television station, aired this EPSN announcement on Tuesday, September 1. TV2 will air the live coverage of the event in February, while ESPN3 will host the “World of X Games” on ABC.
