Skatepark Spotlight: Underpass Skatepark

Skatepark Spotlight: Underpass Skatepark

May 16, 2016

Located under and around the Eastern Avenue, Richmond and Adelaide overpasses in Toronto, Underpass Skatepark is Evolve Camp’s go-to park on rainy days. Because it’s covered, we can skateboard and scooter here regardless of the weather.

Underpass skatepark has features that appeal to all skill levels, whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced rider. It’s mainly a street style park, with plenty of ledges, boxes, and rails to ride. There’s also quarter pipes, manny pads, and more. Many of the rails are perfect for beginners to practice on.

Oh, yeah, and the paintings are awesome!

Evolve incorporates Underpass Skatepark into our Toronto and 905 Skateboard and Scooter lessons, usually as a backup park in case of rain. These skate and scooter camps take place over the course of a week. Each day, kids get picked up from various locations across the city and brought to a new skatepark for lessons. Our instructors provide a full day of safe, fun skateboard or scooter lessons. For more information about these programs, click here.

Underpass skatepark was developed in two stages. Since 2012, Evolve has been visiting the initially developed park. In 2015, the second stage of the park opened on the west side of St. Lawrence Street. The development is part of Toronto’s ongoing plan to transform these pockets of unused urban space into functional areas. Pretty sweet, not going to lie.
