This past weekend, May 7th/May 8th 2016, Evolve hosted a few different events. From Youth Week celebrations to skateboard and scooter lessons, there was plenty of fun stuff going on. In this post, we’re going to do a little recap of everything that went down.
Stouffville Youth Week Lessons
On Saturday, May 7th, Evolve took a trip to the Stouffville Skatepark to do some free skateboard and scooter lessons in celebration of Youth Week, an annual celebration of youth and their active participation in their community. In addition to the lessons, we held a friendly competition to see who could nail the best trick. Here’s some photos from the day:

This past weekend, we also kicked off week 1 of our 4-week May skateboard and scooter lessons at a variety of locations across the GTA. These lessons are drop-off programs that aim to teach kids fundamental skills, improve upon their already existing abilities and have fun in the process. We had lots of young shredders come out and join us at the following skateparks:

Toronto South – Ashbridges Bay Skatepark

Leaside Block Party – Bessborough Public School
On Sunday May 8th, we packed up our mobile skatepark and brought it out to Bessborough Public School in Leaside for a good old block party. Evolve gave some free skateboard and scooter lessons to all the awesome kids who came out to try to make the best of the rainy weather. We also held a trick competition with various giveaways and prizes.
Unfortunately mother nature didn’t really want to cooperate with us and we all got caught in the rain. Hey, you have to make the best of it… Sorry to all the folks in Leaside who got drenched!
