Barrie Ontario is known as Ontario’s ski and snowboard capital. Barrie is located in a natural snowbelt which brings 100 inches of soft snow per year to the area. It is also only about a 45 minute to Toronto and is a quick drive to Snow Valley, Horseshoe Resort, Mount St Louis Moonstone which lay just beyond the city limits. “With more runs than anywhere in Ontario, and with hundreds of kilometres of trails to explore, Barrie is your best choice for skiing excitement,” says the Tourism Barrie website. To keep up with all the winter sports demand, Barrie Ontario features some of the best ski and snowboard shops in the province as well, such as Gates and Boards and Tropical North to name a few. With all the ski and snowboard hype around Barrie, it makes me want to move out of Toronto and to Barrie for next winter.
